'You Satisfy the Hungry Heart'

Also known as “Gift of Finest Wheat,” the hymn “You Satisfy the Hungry Heart” was written by influential Catholic music teacher and hymn writer Omer Westendorf.

The song served as the official hymn of the 41st International Eucharistic Conference of the Roman Catholic Church, which was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1976.

The tune for the hymn was composed by Robert Kreutz, who served as choir director of the Church of St. Bernadette at Lakewood, Colorado.
