10 notable Christian leaders, influencers who died in 2025
Voddie Baucham – Sept. 25

Voddie Baucham Jr., a pastor, theologian and bestselling author known for defending biblical authority, died after suffering an emergency medical incident, his family announced. He was 56.
A native of Los Angeles, California, Baucham rose to prominence as a pastor in Houston before becoming dean of theology at African Christian University in Lusaka, Zambia.
Baucham was widely respected among Evangelicals for his preaching on biblical manhood, family discipleship and cultural apologetics, typically drawing large crowds at conferences.
His 2021 book, Fault Lines, became a bestseller and established him as a leading voice warning churches about what he considered to be a dangerous infiltration of social justice ideology.
“We are saddened to inform friends that our dear brother, Voddie Baucham, Jr., has left the land of the dying and entered the land of the living,” Baucham’s ministry, Founders Ministries, wrote on social media.
“Earlier today, after suffering an emergency medical incident, he entered into his rest and the immediate presence of the Savior whom he loved, trusted, and served since he was converted as a college student … Please pray for Bridget, their children, and grandchildren.”
