10 states with abortion referendums in 2024
Nevada
A proposed constitutional amendment establishing a right to abortion in Nevada is slated to go before voters in the fall. Unlike the measures in other states, Initiative Petition C-05-2023 will have to go before voters and pass again in 2026 in order to take effect.
The Nevada Reproductive Rights Amendment would amend the state constitution to state, “All individuals shall have a fundamental right to abortion performed or administered by a qualified health care practitioner until fetal viability, or when needed to protect the life or health of the pregnant patient, without interference from the state or its political subdivisions.”
The Guttmacher Institute lists Nevada as one of 13 states that protects the right to abortion prior to viability.
