The 2014 Dove Awards are taking place in Nashville, Tennessee on Oct. 7 in what Gospel Music Association's president said will be a ceremony that will delight the Lord.
Each year, GMA's Dove Awards shine a spotlight on leading Christian artists during a star-studded ceremony, and this year will be no different, according to GMA president and director Jackie Patillo.
"The Dove Awards stage represents all genres of gospel music on one stage," she told The Christian Post this week. "The unity and diversity that we experience when our artists and industry come together is awesome to me. It's what heaven is going to look like. I think it makes God smile, as we fulfill the desire of His heart and unite as one and adore Him."
Furthermore, the Dove Awards provide believers with hope, all during an entertaining, music-filled evening.
"Everyone needs hope and music is a universal language," Patillo said. "Our artists are filling airwaves, churches, conferences and arenas with great music that holds a sacred message. The power of God's Word is a spiritual law. It is alive and heals and restores. It's not just entertainment, it's all that and more. We all need a lifeline and God's love for us draws those who He is calling."
While the 45th Annual GMA Dove Awards will take place on Tues. Oct. 7, the show will be broadcast exclusively on The Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) on Sunday, Oct. 12. Consequently, millions of people around the world will be able to tune into the Doves using TBN on television or any device through the network.
"I'm excited about the partnership with TBN because their technology and reach is superb," Patillo noted.
This year's awards will see performers and presenters that include Pat Boone, Mandisa, Danny Gokey, Sandi Patty, Natalie Grant, and Erica Campbell, among many more. Patillo promised viewers that the night will be unforgettable, with several unique moments planned.
"Our aim is to create an atmosphere where every artist will shine bright," she told CP. "I'm looking forward to introducing the New Artist nominees."
