While initially known for his flashy lifestyle on “The Hills,” Pratt has grown more comfortable over the years living out his faith in public.
Despite largely superficial gestures like sporting an expensive black diamond cross necklace, which he referred to later as “thirty grand of Jesus bling,” Pratt has pointed to his encounter with actor Stephen Baldwin on the set of TV’s “Get Me Out of Here” as a turning point in his faith.
Baldwin, a vocal born-again Christian, baptized Pratt personally, a moment which he later compared to his own faith journey. “In the case of my own conversion, initially, I prayed a prayer of salvation. I started this journey, I started to pray to God, I began to read the Bible, I absolutely did not believe that the transformation that has occurred would ever have happened,” said Baldwin in 2010. “So here’s the thing, Spencer Pratt may be laughing, but in time … in God’s time, who knows … God always has the last laugh.”
