When you're feeling angry and discouraged, read these five Bible verses to bring peace and tranquility into your life.

All scriptures are from the New International Version Bible translation.

1) James 1:20

"... [H]uman anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires."

2) Ecclesiastes 7:9

"Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools."

3) Proverbs 15:18

"A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict, but the one who is patient calms a quarrel."

4) Proverbs 19:11

"A person's wisdom yields patience; it is to one's glory to overlook an offense."

5) Romans 12:21

"Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."
