A docudrama starring Padraic Delany as the Protestant leader, “Martin Luther: The Idea That Changed the World” was originally aired by the Public Broadcasting Service in honor of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation’s beginning.

In an earlier interview with The Christian Post, PBS spokesperson Cara White said that the creators of the program, which also goes by the title “A Return to Grace: Luther's Life and Legacy,” had done their best to advance historical accuracy.

"Extra care was taken in creating a film that is not only historically accurate, but cinematically beautiful resulting in an in-depth analysis about Luther — including all of his complexities — and the times in which he lived," White said.

"'Martin Luther: The Idea that Changed the World' uniquely delivers as audiences will find it an educating, engaging and entertaining program."
