Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, the other major Republican candidate for president, raised allegations of a “double standard” regarding the classified documents cases surrounding her current primary rival and potential general election rival: “Both Joe Biden and Donald Trump were reckless with classified documents. If Biden’s defense is old age and forgetfulness, Trump can easily make the same claim. Trump should quickly hire Biden’s lawyers.”

Haley elaborated on her thoughts about the special counsel’s decision in an appearance on Fox News’ “Hannity” Thursday night. “We got to take the politics out of all of our agencies,” she said. “Whether this is Clinton, whether this is Biden, whether this is Trump, they all need to be handled fairly, and clearly, that’s not the case. We have to get rid of the double standard.”

Additionally, Haley described it as “unbelievably disturbing” that the special counsel’s team is showing “that they see Biden to not have a good memory, that they see him as diminished, that they see that it’s a problem and they point blank say that.” She also suggested “they both knew better” when it comes to their handling of classified documents, referring to Trump and Biden.

“Both these men knew better and the arrogance that they both had to think they could walk out with these documents and just not think that there were going to be any repercussions, I think, is the problem that we have with this.”
