On the issue of education, Ramaswamy argued that the U.S. has “a crisis of achievement” and advocated for shutting down the Department of Education and taking its $80 billion budget and giving it to parents.

Ramaswamy also believes that “every high school senior” in the country should take and pass the same civics test given to immigrants to the U.S. to become citizens.

DeSantis believes that “we need education in this country, not indoctrination” and that schools should be focused on “solid academics,” not “critical race theory” or “gender ideology.”

Scott said that “the only way we change education in this nation is to break the backs of the teachers unions,” believing that they are “locking [kids] into failing schools and locking them out of the greatest future they could have.”
