'The King of Glory'

Also known as “The King of Glory Comes,” this hymn by Catholic priest Willard Francis Jabusch was originally published in 1967 by OCP Publications.

The contemporary hymn drew upon biblical passages in Isaiah 7, Psalm 24, and Matthew 4 for its lyrics and modeled its melody off the folk genre of the time.

“The singable hymns reflect the 1960s guitar style that rose to prominence in the years following the Second Vatican Council,” noted OCP regarding this and other songs composed by Jabusch.
