A Kind Waiter Takes a Stand When One of His Special Regulars Is Insulted

Credit :

It's hard to believe that still in this day and age, hateful attitudes till exist. For this loving waiter, he has a group of regulars who come in, along with a down Syndrome boy. One day someone decided to say something negative toward him, and a waiter named Michael Garcia told them to "take a hike!"

Unfortunately, discrimination has not yet been eradicated. Society needs to be more accepting of people with this kind of disability instead of looking down on them. In this wonderful story, a waiter put his job on the line after a fellow patron insulted a special needs friend named of his named Milo. Since the story broke, Garcia has been receiving positive support as well as formal accolades.

After hearing of Garcia's good deed, the people at the National Down Syndrome Society presented him with their Community Change-Maker Award. People like this can be a true inspiration to anyone. We must come to accept others, who may not be as fortunate as us when it comes to health.
