Amazon Kindle Fire Release Date: Amazon Offers Credit to Customers Purchasing Hotspot Smartphones

Amazon is offering a $100 gift card to customers buying any Hotspot enabled smartphone.

“With a hotspot-ready smartphone, you can access the Internet on your Kindle Fire or other Wi-Fi devices anywhere,” said the online retailer. “Beginning at midnight PST tonight and for a limited time, customers who buy hotspot enabled smartphone will receive a $100 Amazon.com gift card.”

For new lines of service, the Hotspot feature must be activated during the purchase to qualify for the giveaway. This promotion is available for those buying some of the hottest Android devices on the market, including the new Motorola Droid Razr.

Other handsets, such as the Samsung Epic 4G Touch, Samsung Galaxy S2, and the HTC Droid Incredible 2, will also be included in the deal.

The HTC Droid Incredible 2 is available on Amazon for just $0.01. This promotion began last night at midnight.

One reason Amazon might be offering this gift card could be to give customers the incentive to use it on the upcoming Kindle Fire tablet.

The deal is a 50 percent discount on the item, because it retails at $199. Amazon’s Kindle Fire tab is set to launch Nov. 15.

It will become one of the most reasonably priced tablet computers on the market upon its release.

Amazon is also holding a special on the new Motorola Droid Razr smartphone, selling it with an upgrade for just $111.11 to Verizon customers.

Motorola touts the Razr to be the world’s thinnest smartphone at 7.1mm thickness.

It also sports impressive specifications and will be one of the first Android devices to run the upcoming Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
