American Idol Judges Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban Confirmed: Headed for Disaster?

The final "American Idol" judging panel was confirmed over the weekend, but the ending panel may not be able to get along, according to sources.

It would appear that this time around it has been harder to pick judges than it normally is to pick a winner on "American Idol." But with little time to spare, a decision has finally been made and the final judging panel has been announced. Making the final cut is Randy Jackson, Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey, and Keith Urban.

The diverse panel reflects the show's equally diverse audience of both young and old alike. Keith Urban, 44, could offer better representation to the country genre, which seems fitting given the number of successful country artists that have come off the show.

Nicki Minaj, 29, is more suited to a mix of rap and pop and although she is at the later end of her twenties, she still appeals to a much younger audience as well.

Mariah Carey, 42, may be the most respected when it comes to vocal advice, and of course, Randy Jackson provides a nice staple since he has been a standing judge on the show.

But the question has become whether or not the very diverse judging panel will be too diverse to get along. When Carey first received news that Minaj was being considered as a top pick for a judge, sources reported that she was anything but happy.

"Mariah was led to believe she would be the only woman on the judge's panel. Choosing Nicki would not only crush that expectation, it would add insult to injury because Nicki is a lot younger than Mariah," a source told TMZ at the end of August.

Middle America being represented was also listed as a concern, and it now appears that Keith Urban may be slightly outnumbered.
