Amy Winehouse Dead: Loved Ones Arrive at Her Funeral

The funeral of the recently deceased singer Amy Winehouse will be held today. The 27-year-old singer was found dead last Saturday at her north London home.

Family and friends of Winehouse have started to arrive at the Edgwarebury Cemetery in Edgware, north London, where the road is lined with photographers and fans.

One of Winehouse’s best friends, a tearful Kelly Osborne, is said to be in attendance sporting the signature “Beehive” hairstyle that Amy Winehouse was famous for.

The funeral has been organized as a private affair, with only family and close friends being asked to attend.

Celebrities unable to join the funeral have taken to twitter to pay tribute to the soul singer whose death has shocked the music world.

Britain’s George Michael tweeted, calling the late star “the most soulful vocalist this country has ever seen.”

Singer Adele posted a statement on her website saying that Winehouse “paved the way for artists like me and made people excited about British music again.

Winehouse’s God-daughter, Dionne Bromfield also paid her respects to the star on Twitter saying, “I feel like a part of my soul has departed with the beautiful songbird Amy… Please say a prayer…She loved everyone.”

Bromfield was signed to Winehouse’s record label and the two appeared together on stage last week at the Roundhouse in Camden.

An autopsy on Amy Winehouse’s body was carried out yesterday, but the cause of death has still not been clarified, and a number of weeks may now pass before a detailed conclusive report can be made.

Winehouse’s home in north London, the scene of her death, has been searched by police who say they have found nothing suspicious, and have also said they have not found any drug paraphernalia.

Winehouse had a reputation for heavy drug use and many in the media believed this could have been the cause of death.

Toxicology tests have been taken and it will now be up to four weeks for the results to be returned, which will help determine whether drug use led to the singer’s death.

Sources close to the Winehouse told Perez Hilton.com that Winehouse had given up heavy drug use but was still drinking a lot. They also said Winehouse suffered from seizures.

Some have rumored that her drinking may have brought on a massive seizure killing the singer.
