Anne Hathaway's Shame Over Weight: Not 'Thin Enough'? (PHOTO)

Anne Hathaway has admitted that despite her rising stardom, she is still very self-conscious about her body.

The 30-year-old was recently required to lose 25 pounds in order to fulfill her leading role for "Les Miserables," but that hasn't made her any less conscious of her body. The star admitted that her frequent concern over weight is "stressful."

"I still feel the stress over 'Am I thin enough? Am I too thin? Is my body the right shape,'" she said in an interview with Glamour magazine for their January issue.

Hathaway suggested that she is too old now to still be worrying about body issues, adding that her lack of body confidence is still a source of shame.

"There's an obsessive quality to it that I thought I would've grown out of by now," she revealed to the magazine. "It's an ongoing source of shame for me."

The star stated that constantly being in the public eye has made her a less eccentric person because she is fearful of being made fun of. Instead, she stated that she would rather be boring and "disappear."

"I just think about the ridicule you get if you have an off day. If people weren't watching, I'd be so much more eccentric," she admitted. "I actually really don't feel like getting made fun of. So I put on something boring and navy and go out and try to disappear."

But Hathaway, who recently married Adam Shulman in September, also fears that that sort of attitude makes her weak.

"I know it makes me sound weak," she told Galmour, "rather than make myself happy and wear the silly hat and say, 'Oh, I don't care.'"

The actress was put on a strict diet to lose weight for her role, which created severe media frenzy over the fact that the actress looked "pale" and "malnourished."
