iPad Air Plus Specs, Features Rumors: Leaked Schematics Reveal Size and Details of Purported Device
This weekend an image was leaked of what is believed to be the schematics and specifications of Apple's purported 12.2-inch tablet which is currently known as the "iPad Air Plus," according to reports.
The Cupertino-based company will be releasing a 12.2 tablet to be named as iPad Air Plus in "the spring of next year," Japanese publication Mac Fan stated in their January 2015 edition.
Among the many "surprises" and intriguing details that the rumors bring is that the purported device could have four speakers with a much-improved stereo sound capabilities.
The latest iPads, as already known, only have two speakers located along the bottom edge of the device's chassis. The schematics, however, showcased a couple of speakers on the bottom part and another two on the top.
In addition, the leaked image reveals that the iPad Air Plus will also have a Retina HD display and will run on the company's next-gen A9 processor.
As also described, the device measures 305 mm tall by 220.8 mm wide with a thickness of 7 mm -- .9 mm shy of the thicker, recently unveiled iPad Air 2.
The news is similar to a Bloomberg report that said the alleged device will see an "early 2015" launch date. Macotakara, who also picked up the report, said that the iPad Air Plus will be made available "between April and June of 2015."
Readers should take the news with a grain of salt as it has not been confirmed by Apple.
