Here's a rundown of all the important Apple, Samsung and Android dates in October.

October 2: AT&T Samsung Galaxy S2 release

After its original September 16 release date came and went with no Galaxy S2, many AT&T customers became annoyed at the network's lack of information about the smartphone.

Some customers decided to switch to the Sprint network in order to get their hands on a Galaxy S2. Most customers however have decided to be patient and wait for the latest confirmed release date.

October 4: Apple "Let's Talk iPhone" event

The iPhone 5 has been the most anticipated smartphone of the year. While most information about the iPhone 5 remains in the realm of rumors, the date of Apple's media event, where the smartphone is expected to be unveiled has recently been confirmed.

October 11: "Samsung Mobile Unpacked" event

In the midst of the Galaxy S2 buzz, Samsung, partnered with Google, has continued to develop its hardware and software. Samsung's recently confirmed media event is expected to unveil the Google Nexus Prime smartphone and the Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS.

October 12: T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 release

Much attention has been given to both the Sprint and AT&T releases of the Galaxy S2. However, buzz about T-Mobile's Galaxy S2, with its updated specs such as a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor has increased since its release date has been confirmed.

October 14: Proposed iPhone 5 release date

While the October 4 media event date has been confirmed, there is still much speculation about the actual release date of the iPhone 5. Commentators indicate that iPhone releases occur not long after its unveiling.

They also suggest that reports of Apple blacking out employee vacation dates during the first two weeks of October indicate that the smartphone will be released during that time.

Late October: Ice Cream Sandwich OS debut

Little is known about the logistics of Google's upcoming operating system. However, rumors indicate that the OS will be released just before the estimated November 3 release of the Google Nexus Prime on the Verizon Wireless network.

The smartphone is expected to release on the AT&T and Sprint networks on November 24.
