Archbishop of Canterbury to Attend Pope’s Funeral

Rev. Rowan Williams will become the first serving Archbishop of Canterbury to attend a Pope’s funeral when he goes to Rome this Friday for Pope John Paul II. According to the Anglican Communion News Service, Williams was “pleased and honored” to accept the invitation.

Williams will be traveling with the Archbishop’s Secretary for International and Ecumenical Affairs, the Rev. Andrew Norman, and the Archbishop’s Secretary for Public Affairs, Jeremy Harris.
