She is being used as an example showing that none of us are perfect, but God loves us either way.

In all circumstances we should trust the Lord with all of our heart and know that He is always there for us. In the story about the woman and the issue of blood, virtue went out and eventually healed her. A polished exterior has nothing to do with how close we are to God and it's our faith that makes us well. Jesus died because we can't clean ourselves enough, our nature is sinful. Grace is right now, because He loves us.
No matter how lost we might be, He is always there to find us. He loves us more than we will ever know.
