Ashlee Simpson Dating Diana Ross' Son Evan? Pair Spotted Holding Hands in Hollywood

Ashlee Simpson and Diana Ross' son Evan were spotted together and the pair was holding hands tightly, leading to speculation that they are now dating. Simpson and Ross were seen together in Hollywood Monday night after an outing to a hotel lounge.

Ashlee Simpson, younger sister to Jessica Simpson, and Evan were hanging out at the Sunset Marquis Hotel in Hollywood together. After that, they decided to visit Teddy's at the Roosevelt Hotel. They stayed at the lounge and nightclub until 1:30 a.m.

An onlooker told People magazine that the 28-year-old Simpson was dancing with the 24-year-old son of Diana Ross to Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody." She wore a floral print romper while he wore all black, including a floor-length black coat.

The pair's meeting was no chance coincidence. The next morning, they were seen leaving a mutual friend's house, then headed to West Hollywood's Café Med.

Still, other reports claim the two could just be close friends.

"Evan and Ashlee have been friends for a really long time, probably 10 years," a source told Us magazine. "They know each other from the club scene and have tons of mutual friends."

Neither Ross' nor Simpson's reps would comment on whether or not their friendship has blossomed into a relationship.

Some of the speculation surrounding Simpson comes from the publicized end of her last relationship. The singer was formerly with actor Vincent Piazza of "Boardwalk Empire," but although the pair was going strong for a year and a half, it eventually came to an end in November of last year.

"There was no bad blood and no third party involved," an insider told Us magazine at the time. "It was honestly just a long distance relationship and it became too hard to make it work."

Simpson has one son, 4-year-old Bronx, with FallOut Boy member Pete Wentz.
