AT&T Introduces LG Nitro HD as Next LTE Smartphone (VIDEO)

AT&T just introduced the next smartphone in its line of 4G LTE enabled devices, the LG Nitro HD.

Outside of United States territories, this smartphone goes by the name of the Optimus LTE. It will feature support from AT&T's Long Term Evolution 4G and HSPA+ networks.

This new AT&T smartphone comes with a wide range of attractive features, such as a 4.5-inch True HD AH-IPS display with 720x1280 pixels, dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 8 megapixel camera on the back, 4 GB of onboard memory and a microSD card slot that comes with a 16 GB card and up to 3 hours of talk time through the Li-Ion battery.

Up to 252 hours of standby time exists for the Nitro HD, as well.

The display also comes outfitted with Advanced High-performance In-Plane Switching.

LG's smartphone will be one of the slimmest models available from the cellphone maker.

Other features for the smartphone include an accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate, proximity sensor for auto turnoff, touch-sensitive controls, multi-touch input method and a gyro sensor.

The LG Nitro HD currently runs Google's Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread operating system.

AT&T is holding a press conference on Dec. 1 in New York. The handset maker is expected to make the LG Nitro HD public for the first time at this event.

The LG Nitro HD is scheduled for release for $249.99 on Dec. 4.

Other LTE smartphones that were introduced by AT&T include the HTC Vivid and Samsung GSII Skyrocket.
