'Batman v Superman' Cast News, Rumors: Jena Malone to Play Carrie Kelly?

Is a new female character about to be featured in the "Batman v Superman" movie?

The film stars Amy Adams as Lois Lane, and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. But now, there are rumors that Carrie Kelly—the female Robin—will also be appearing in the movie, and will be played by Jena Malone.

According to MovieWeb, it was confirmed that the actress has been cast in the much anticipated film, weeks after she was spotted on the Detroit set sporting newly crimson locks with director Zach Snyder. Though there was no official confirmation regarding what role the actress will be playing, the website says that an East Lansing, Michigan report revealed that Malone is playing Carrie Kelly.

The Daily Beast has also brought up the rumor about Malone being in the film, and though there has been no direct quote from her, the site says that "her lips are sealed" when asked about the Carrie Kelly rumors.

Malone started her career as a child actress. She had roles in several TV movies before getting her big break on the 1998 hit film "Stepmom" opposite Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon. If the rumors about the actress being in "Batman v Superman" are true, then perhaps Snyder may have found that the role of the female Robin is befitting the actress as she has previously worked with him in the action-packed, all-female ensemble film "Sucker Punch." She also stars in "The Hunger Games" series as Johanna Mason.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Gal Gadot, and Jesse Eisenberg. The movie is slated to premiere on March 25, 2016.
