'Battleborn' 5th DLC Details, News: 'Phoebe and the Heart of Ekkunar' Receives Mixed Reactions

Gearbox Software's online first-person shooter game titled "Battleborn" may have launched around a year ago, but it continues to grow. This time, it adds another story operation that is meant to give players hours of play time.

Last Feb. 23, the fifth downloadable content (DLC) for the game was launched and was dubbed "Phoebe and the Heart of Ekkunar." In this added story, Phoebe and her group proceed to Ekkunar to uncover the mysteries of the planet, only to find even more questions.

With the fifth DLC, players can gain access to the following: eight titles, two more skins for each of the current 30 heroes — up to 60 new skins, three new taunts, six new Legendary Gear pieces and Faction Commander Packs each time a player hits max score.

The trailer for the DLC shows what players can expect from it. The game allows exploration of the vast Aztanti Ruins, and in the very depths of it lay hidden treasures and a long forgotten secret. Of course, this is guarded by formidable enemies, so players best be prepared for it.

When the new content was announced, it met a mixed reception from netizens, unfortunately. There are those who find the new content amazing and a great addition to the lore of "Battleborn." As for others, they feel that it was surprising in a way that they didn't see the game existing, and was wiped out by more popular games.

This being said, the ultimate decision lies in the majority of the players who are still experiencing the game. Considering it has only been a few days after the DLC's release, it is hard to conclude whether the new content was a shot at redemption or not.

As always, all DLC Story Operations can be easily accessed by getting the Season Pass or the game's Digital Deluxe Edition. Other than that, each DLC can also be obtained in-game by purchasing it with 700 Platinum.
