Things continued to break down between Amanda and McCrae, after he tried to throw the HOH competition so that she could win. McCrae revealed that he wasn't going to throw it again, and Amanda took it as an insult to her ability to compete and walked out on McCrae. The rest of the houseguests took notice of Amanda's behavior and worried that she would end up costing McCrae more than just the half-million dollars.

Helen encouraged Elissa to stay focused, to stay in the game and not worry about being put up on the block. Helen then went to Aaryn and attempted to do some damage control, complimenting Aaryn left and right.

Amanda set about to convince Aaryn to put up Helen and Elissa, breaking up their alliance. Aaryn revealed that she wanted to put up Spencer and Elissa so that Elissa would be taken out of the competition. However, Amanda was persistent in her conviction to get Helen out of the house, even though Aaryn was uncomfortable with the plan.

Tensions also broke between Elissa and Helen, as Elissa had a defeatist attitude towards everything, given Aaryn's HOH. The emotional toll showed as Helen continued to break down; Elissa revealed that she would not stay in the Jury House and provide a vote for Helen but would leave to go home to her family. The rest of the houseguests attempted to comfort Helen.

The houseguests then played in the Have/Have Not Competition, which was set up entirely in the dark. Two groups of four worked together in order to earn hot showers, good food, and comfortable beds. Amanda, Helen, GinaMarie, and Elissa lost the competition to become the Have Nots for the week, which Helen worried would continue to hurt Elissa's game play.

Elissa finally spoke to Aaryn and told her that she wanted to be in the house and didn't want to be at odds with her. Aaryn assured Elissa that she was not the target, even if she was nominated. Aaryn then revealed to the camera that she wanted to get Helen out of the house because she was such a big threat to the alliance known as 3 A.M.

Aaryn made a huge move and nominated Helen and Elissa, with the intention to break up their alliance before they could break up hers. The two friends will now have to compete against one another to stay in the house another week.
