Billy Graham TV Program to Present Weeklong Christmas Special

Starting Saturday, a Billy Graham TV special will air in cities across the nation to share with people in every walk of life the true meaning of a Christ-centered Christmas.

"Christmas is a joyful time as we celebrate our Savior's birth. But we also know many people struggle during the holidays with finances, loneliness, loss, or any number of other difficulties," said Duane Gaylord, vice president of television, film and Internet at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA).

"So while few primetime TV programs present the truth of Jesus Christ during Christmas, our program proclaims this Good News boldly and joyfully, so that all who see it will understand the hope we can have this season," he added in an announcement.

Produced by the BGEA, the Dec. 6-14 program will include heart-warming tales and inspiring world-premier Christmas music videos from Dove Award-winning artist Nicole C. Mullen, as well as from Grammy Award-winning artist Steven Curtis Chapman, who will share about his own family's emotional Christmas journey following the tragic death of a daughter earlier this year.

"Enormous grief and joy and peace in the midst of it, how can these two fit together?" Chapman says in one segment.

Hosting the holiday program will be Billy Graham's son, evangelist Franklin Graham, who currently serves as the president and CEO of the BGEA and also leads the Christian relief organization Samaritan's Purse. Also featured will be long-time Graham associates Cliff Barrows and George Beverly Shea, who will share some memories with viewers.

"The Billy Graham Christmas Special with Franklin Graham" will air in 150 markets in the U.S. and Canada, and on seven national networks.
