Black Friday 2011: Walmart Announces Exclusive Deals on Facebook

Walmart announced today it will reveal early Black Friday deals to anyone who “likes” its Facebook profile in preparation of "Super Saturday."

Only a few weeks remain until Black Friday hits Nov. 25, and many of the major retailers are fighting to get consumer attention by offering sneak previews of the merchandise that will be on sale.

Walmart is going to take advantage of Facebook, the most popular social networking website available, and will share updates on its Black Friday plans.

People who are interested in taking a look at the offers only need to click the “like” button on Walmart’s Facebook, and they will receive all the latest news on special deals.

For many customers, this new way of bargain hunting will provide a very convenient way of keeping up to date on the happenings, as they will not have to search for online articles to find information.

The company is also making other efforts to wet consumer appetite on Saturday, or “Super Saturday." Walmart will hold an all-day sales event to include special offers on electronics, toys and apparel. Among the items offered, include LED TVs and Xbox 360s with Kinect.

Moms looking to get some early Christmas shopping in and buy presents for their young children will also be able to chose from some popular toys on discount, including Transformers robots and Playskool educational sets.

The sale is expected to last until midnight, and it is certain to gather large crowds all over Walmart stores.

As an alternative to Facebook, people will also have the option of signing up to the company’s official site and receiving updates on there.
