Boy Has Sword Removed From Skull

A Chinese teenager and some friends were playing with a Japanese-style sword when he was accidentally stabbed in the forehead.

Zhang Bin, 15, invited friends to his house to hang out. One friend brought the sword to show off, according to the Telegraph.

The boys began playing with the sword when it accidently stabbed Zhang in the forehead, right between the eyes. It penetrated at least two inches.

"Three classmates came to visit me at home. My friend with the sword stood around ten feet away. I don't know how it managed to slip and fly towards me. I felt a sharp pain and lots of blood started flowing down my face," said Zhang, according to the Telegraph.

He was taken to the local hospital, however, the doctors did not know how to remove a sword. He was sent to a hospital in Changsha, four hours away.

After surgery, he is expected to make a full recovery.

"Luckily, the sword did not touch the arteries in the skull or any key nerves, otherwise it would have been a different story," said one of the surgeons to the Chinese media, according to the Daily Mirror.
