Canadian singer Carly Rae Jepsen swept the U.K.'s charts with her hit single "Call Me Maybe."

The song has sold more than 100,000 copies and is the fastest-selling single in the U.K. this year.

Additionally, "Call Me Maybe" is number one on charts in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, according to Daily Mail.

The success of the song is credited to its top position on YouTube where it has accumulated over 18 million views.

In the music video for "Call Me Maybe," superstars Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are seen singing along to the lyrics, attracting thousands of viewers. Ashley Tisdale is also seen in the video.

Jepsen placed third on Canada's version of "American Idol," and signed a record deal with Justin Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun, earlier this year. The 26-year-old singer and songwriter is the first Canadian "Idol" to enter charts in the U.K.

"He's never jumped out and promoted an artist like this before," said Braun of Bieber, according to Daily Mail. "He sends me different YouTube videos of unsigned artists that he'd like to work with, but never someone who already had a song out and is on the radio."

Noting her career's catapult, Jepsen said, "It's hard to believe at the moment. It's definitely a surreal life that I'm in right now, but I'm enjoying every second of it. It's pretty crazy."

Jepsen explained that Bieber had taken an interest in her career as a way of "paying it forward" and that she too hopes to do the same some day.

"They say it's called paying it forward since Usher signed Bieber and then he signed me, so I'm gonna hope that I have the opportunity. That'd be pretty rad," said the singer.

Bieber, who just released a new single "Boyfriend," is "an inspiration" to Jepsen.

"No matter what his age, I think his career is really impressive," said Jepsen of her fellow Canadian pop star. "It's pretty amazing that he's remained to humble and cool."
