Christian Aid Week -- April 9-15
The United Kingdom will enter its longest established and most successful door-to-door fundraising effort beginning May 9th. The weeklong event follows the theme, “We believe in life before death,” and aims to build on last year’s total of 14.3 million British Pounds.
This year, British celebrities and authors will join the effort, and there will be newspaper and TV advertisings will call on the public to “Help people in the third world stand on their own two feet.'
Events have been scheduled across Scotland, England, North East England, East Midlands and East Anglia, Ireland, Wales, SouthWest England and in London.
The Christian Aid says it spends more than 80% of the income received through the week directly on development and campaigns. CA has more than workers in 55 countries fighting against poverty.
