Cleveland Cavaliers Lose to Utah Jazz in Buzzer Beater, Season is Still Starting

The Cleveland Cavaliers faced their second loss this season against the Utah Jazz over a 2-point buzzer beater Wednesday made by Gordon Hayward. The moment happened after Hayward was able to break free from LeBron James to catch a pass, step back on the right wing, and scoring a jump shot just as the end game horn had sounded.

"I've never really done that before. It was just one of those moments," Hayward had said regarding their team's resounding celebration. "How can you not show emotion after a finish like that? For us to win the game after being in control the whole game and then see it slipping away, it was pretty special."

While the Cavaliers are looking to be having a bad start this season, it's only the start of November and the team is looking to improve.

"Rome wasn't built in a day and we understand that. You have to continue to work the process. You hate to lose as competitors, but we felt like tonight we improved. We improved and proved in the second half that were capable of playing some good basketball," James said after the game.

Kyrie Irving lead the team in points with 34, James in close second with 31 points, and Kevin Love adding another 14 to the total tally. The Cavaliers had lost to the Portland Trail Blazers the previous night with a 101-82 final score. Wednesday's game was closer than Tuesday's but was still not enough for the Cavaliers to pull a win.
