Colin Farrell Reveals Shocking 'Romantic Relationship' With Elizabeth Taylor
Colin Farrell opened up about his love life in a surprising new interview which revealed his "romantic relationship" with screen icon Elizabeth Taylor this week.
The "Saving Mr. Banks" star appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres" show when he unveiled his secret interaction with Taylor, which took place just before her death at age 79 in 2011.
Despite Taylor being 40 years his senior, Farrell struck a tight bond with the actress after a chance encounter with her manager at Cedars-Sinai hospital. One thing led to another, and the pair of actors began a correspondence before actually seeing one another.
"I got to have an audience with her, and that was the beginning of a year and a half or two years of what was … it was kind of like the last, it feels like in my head, not her, I'm projecting, of romantic relationship I had," said the actor while speaking to DeGeneres.

Farrell later noted that the relationship was never consummated, but that he and Taylor took solace in knowing that they both suffered from insomnia.
"She wasn't much of a sleeper at night like I'm not," he said. "I'd call her at two in the morning … and we'd talk for a half an hour, an hour into the wee hours. Really cool."
Taylor was married seven times, twice to actor Richard Burton, and Farrell said he had been open to becoming the legendary actress' eighth husband.
"I wanted to be number eight but we ran out of road," he told DeGeneres.
The Hollywood Golden Age actress died on March 23, 2011. Farrell attended her funeral and even offered a poetry reading.
"I just adored her," the actor gushed. "She was a spectacular, spectacular woman."
Farrell is no stranger to relationship with high-profile women such as Taylor. The "Total Recall" star has been previously linked to Demi Moore, Britney Spears, Naomi Campbell and Lindsay Lohan.
The actor's latest movie, "Saving Mr. Banks," is in theaters this week.
