Culture Update: Gifted, the American Christian Idol

Producers announce audition date changes, new schedules and current progress reports

For those wondering about the status of “Gifted,” the program that will showcase Gospel music’s hidden talent in the style of “American Idol,” auditions have been postponed, with a new schedule in the process of being confirmed. Despite the delay, producers are pleased with the current progress of the program:

“An exciting opportunity has been presented to “Gifted” which has caused the audition dates to be postponed, but we are confident that “Gifted” will now be bigger and better than we had originally hoped. “Gifted” has entered pre-production and the official audition dates will be announced soon via the website: www.gifted.tv.”

For “Gifted” hopefuls wishing to audition, the criteria is as follows:

Each person must:

· Be over 18, with no age maximum
· Be prepared to sing 2 contemporary Christian or Gospel songs, each approx. 1 minute in length, a capella (no accompaniment allowed or provided)
· Provide a current, government issued photo ID on the day of audition
