Dad With Cancer Makes It His Mission To Help Others With The Disease

Credit :

Garth Callaghan has been writing love notes on napkins to place in his child's lunchboxes for years. He has been packaging his daughters lunch since kindergarten. After he was diagnosed with cancer in 2011, it occurred to him that this small gesture that meant so much may soon come to an end.

As soon as the story got out, it went viral. He vowed to write 826 notes so that there is one for every day of school Emma has left, until the day she graduates. After three more diagnoses, Callaghan still remains strong and has taken his note-writing to the next level. He shares his information about his disease on the patientslikeme.com website, where he hopes to help someone with a similar fate.

This website offers anyone with health concerns the chance to share their health experiences and support one another to "take back their health."
