Dana White Calls Floyd Mayweather a 'Racist' (VIDEO)

Floyd Mayweather Jr. was called a racist by UFC President Dana White, the champion boxer posted on Twitter racially insensitive comments regarding Jeremy Lin and his sudden rise to fame.

"Jeremy Lin is a good player but all the hype is because he's Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don't get the same praise," Mayweather tweeted on Feb. 13.

UFC president Dana White went after Mayweather in a feature called "Presidential Address" during the broadcast of "UFC Tonight" on Feb. 21. Staring straight into the camera White called the WBC welterweight champion a "racist" and "knucklehead."

"First of all, what (Mayweather) said, I think, is racist," White said. "He's made a couple of racist comments. And yes, Floyd, you're racist with the stuff that you've said."

Further on during the address White gives some advice by suggesting that Mayweather focus his attention away from Lin and other professional athletes and instead concentrate on securing a fight with Manny Pacquiao, who is scheduled to fight Timothy Bradley on June 9.

Mayweather has not yet addressed the UFC headman, but did respond to criticism from ESPN.

"It's okay for ESPN to give their opinion but I say something and everyone questions Floyd Mayweather. I'm speaking my mind on behalf of other NBA players. They are programmed to be politically correct and will be penalized if they speak up." Mayweather said.

He continued, "Other countries get to support/cheer their athletes and everything is fine. As soon as I support Black American athletes, I get criticized."

ESPN also had its own controversy involving Jeremy Lin. ESPN fired one of its editors for posting an offensive headline containing a racial slur.

The same day it issued a formal apology to Jeremy Lin a spokesperson for ESPN acknowledged that there was more than one incident involving "offensive and inappropriate" comments that aired on the sports network's other outlets.
