Dancing With the Stars 2014 Season 19 Cast List, Pairings and Assigned Dances

"Dancing With The Stars" is an American reality television show where celebrity contestants are paired with a professional dancer, in a bid to win the competition against other pairs. The show is already on its ninteenth season which is already on air Sept. 15. The series can be seen on the ABC channel.

The show is the American version of the British dancing televison show "Strictly Come Dancing," and first aired on the ABC channel in 2005.

The show works by assigning each pairing a predetermined dance and competes for the judges' points and audience votes. Each week, the pair with the lowest number of points and audience votes will be eliminated from the competition. Celebrity contestants have consisted of former Olympic athletes, actors, singers, and supermodels.

Season 19 will be seeing Tom Bergeron returning as the show's host, with judges Erin Andrews, Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. Twelve pairings have already been revealed and the first week's dances have already been assigned.

Actor Jonathan Bennett with Allison Holker, actor Tommy Chong with Peta Murgatroyd, UFC champion Randy Couture with Karina Smirnoff, fashion designer Betsey Johnson with Tony Dovolani, Olympic athlete Lolo Jones with Keoikantse Motsepe, YouTube personality Bethany Mota with Derek Hough, actress Janel Parrish with Valentin Chmerkovskiy, actor Alfonso Ribeiro with Witney Carson, reality television star Sadie Robertson with Mark Ballas, actor and model Antonio Sabato Jr. with Cheryl Burke, talk show host Tavis Smiley with Sharna Burgess, actress Lea Thompson with Artem Chigvintsev, and racing champion Michael Waltrip with Emma Slater.

The dance Cha-cha-cha has been assigned to the pairs Tommy & Peta, Betsey & Tony, Lolo & Keo, Sadie & Mark, Antonio & Cheryl, and Michael & Emma. The dance Jive has been given to the pairs Jonathan & Allison, Bethany & Derek, Janel & Val, and Alfonso & Witney. Lastly, Foxtrot has been given to pairs Randy & Karina, Tavis & Sharna, and Lea & Artem.
