'Days of Our Lives' Spoilers, Plot Rumors December 15- 19: EJ DiMera Recast?

Fans of "Days of Our Lives" may be in for an exciting storyline as it has been reported that "All My Children'" alum, Adam Mayfield, is coming to the NBC soap. Many are speculating that Mayfield may have been hired to play the role of EJ Dimera, which is James Scott's former character.

It can be recalled that EJ was killed off in the fall of 2014, and viewers witnessed his sister, Kristen DiMera inject his body with an unknown substance and had it shipped off to her father, Stefano DiMera. This raised questions as to whether EJ was really dead.

However, according to "DOOL" spoilers, a rep from the NBC show confirmed that Mayfield was indeed joining the soap, but not as EJ Dimera. The actor will be playing a new character that is set to debut in January, and is someone from Serena Mason's past.
