The only survivors in "Dead of Summer" Season 1 were Jessie (Paulina Singer), Blair (Mark Indelicato) and Drew (Zelda Williams). There is no mention of a second season just yet but executive producers share in a report on how Season 2 might be.

Kitsis shared that the second season might be an era in the 1970's. The lake still provides the fight for good and evil. However, the vibe from the 80's will be much different from the vibe in the 70's. He added that if a second season will air, it will be more insightful. It will also be a totally different horror.

"Dead of Summer" Season 2 is not yet finalized but Kitsis noted that they are definitely bringing back some of the actors in Season 1. He also shared that the show is about hope. The love of Drew and Blair is one love that can bring hope.

A Potential Second Season

Kitsis and Horowitz share that each episode of "Dead of Summer" Season 1 became better right after the other episode ends. Horowitz explained that the transformation of Amy in episode 9 was the ultimate goal for the season. It was what they have been building up all along.

A potential "Dead of Summer" Season 2 will be inspired by the 1970's. It will have the vibe of the late 1960's up until the early 70's. It will be something of a summer in 1970 where kids decide to go to Altamont since they missed Woodstock. It might be that these kids found something in Altamont in 1969 and went back because in the last year they were at Stillwater, Kitsis explained further.

There is no word of a Dead of Summer Season 2 yet. Kitsis noted that for now, they are ready if ever a renewal will be finalized. As of the moment he suggested to enjoy the first season and wait till the announcement is made for a second season.

Fans and followers can look out for a potential "Dead of Summer" Season 2. For now, all that the fans can do is wait.
