'Deadpool 2' Release Date, News: New Movie Poster Reveals Sequel's Title?

A new poster for "Deadpool 2" has been dropped, possibly revealing the title of the sequel. "Deadpool" actor Ryan Reynolds shared the image on Twitter, hinting that the line at the bottom right corner of the poster might just be the upcoming movie's title.

There is no word yet as to whether "Deadpool 2" will be the movie's official title or not, but many believe that giving it a subtitle will work to the movie's advantage. The poster shared by Reynolds apparently took inspiration from Michelangelo's "The Creation of Adam," only that it features Deadpool (Reynolds) and Cable (Josh Brolin) instead of God and Adam.

In the poster, the Merc with a Mouth is shown sticking the tip of his finger in Cable's gun, opening up a time portal. "Some might call this creation a masterpiece, but to me it's just well-hung art to be shared with the world," captioned Reynolds. As if the image wasn't compelling enough, the poster included a line that reads, "the second coming 2018."

Although the line may be suggestive of the sequel's theater debut on June 1, 2018, there are speculations that it may suggest something deeper — the movie's unknown title. Rumor has it that the line in the poster hints at "Deadpool: The Second Coming" being the sequel's official title, although this is yet to be confirmed.

"Deadpool" is one of the biggest hits of 2015, so the high anticipation for its sequel is understandable. In addition to Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool and Brolin as Cable, other cast members who will appear in the sequel include Zazie Beetz as Domino, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Stefan Kapcic as Colossus, and Karan Soni as Dopinder the cab driver.

"Deadpool 2" will hit theaters on May 31, 2018.
