It was reported that this speculation was gathered from a presentation during the E3 conference of 2015. It was said that a YouTube user, Matty Schoeder, saw something from the presentation of the games co-director, Harvey Smith. Schroeder noticed that Smith was talking to the president of Arkane Studios, Ralph Colantonio. They then announced the development of the upcoming game during the press conference. With that, they indirectly hinted that there may be delays to the film since they had removed the "Spring" out of "Spring 2016," only leaving the presentation with the release for 2016. In addition, fans were suspicious to the fact that only one trailer was released for the game, when there are usually several gameplay trailers and screenshots revealed nearing the release date.

Meanwhile, it was reported that the change in release date can be beneficial for the game because spring 2015 is expected to bring in several games on the PS4. It was said that a popular title "Uncharter 4" will be available by March 2016, as well as another Bethesda game titled "DOOM." "Mirror's Edge Catalyst" is also expected to release around that time. Therefore, the change in release date can steer them away from competition.

However, there has yet to be any details on the release of the upcoming game.
