'Doctor Who' Season 9 Spoilers, Episode News: Steven Moffat Confirms Production of 2-Part Episode

Latest news about the highly anticipated ninth season of the hit science-fiction TV program "Doctor Who" confirms that the series already began filming last month. Executive producer Steven Moffat spoke about details of the production.

"We're filming our first two-parter at the moment, which is in fact going to be episodes three and four of the new series," the "Sherlock" writer told Radio Times in an interview. "A brilliant script by Toby Whithouse."

Moffat went on to dish more information on what fans should expect for in the coming Season 9 episodes.

"Then we're about to move on to a couple of scripts I've written. We've got some other stuff lined up from other writers - some new, some old, some middle-aged," he went on to say. "It's a little early to start teasing it too much, but I'm pretty excited. We've got some very, very good stuff coming."

To offer more details on what to look forward to when the season returns this autumn of 2015, website CultBox indicated in their summary report that writer Neil Gaiman won't be writing for the upcoming chapter of the popular time-travel TV show but with one exception.

"I'm not writing for Series 9 right now, just because of ridiculous work commitments I'm trying to get out from under. I am determined to write for Peter Capaldi. As long as Peter is Doctor Who, I will write for him," Gaiman said.

As for the characters themselves, Jenna Coleman, who plays the Doctor's companion Clara Oswald, confirms she will be reprising her role for the show's brand new season.

"I couldn't walk away with the story being unresolved and there's so much more to do – I think [the Doctor and Clara have] finally just reached a point where they really understand each other!" Coleman said.

"Jenna [Coleman] is obviously in all of the next series," Moffat chimed in.
