Drake to Open a Toronto-based Restaurant That Will Serve Sushi?

There is no doubt that Drake is one of the most sought-after artists in the music scene right now. However, the rapper is believed to be extending his business with a Toronto-based restaurant that will reportedly serve up sushi.

The reports of Drake opening his own restaurant started when Toronto-based fans spotted a yet-to-open spot that was likely going to be a food establishment sporting the OVO owl logo in the location's hoardings.

OVO Sound is the record label that Drake co-founded that mainly operates in Toronto as well.

While Drake rarely talks about his rumored venture into the food business industry, reports are positive that his songs have hinted that it was coming for years. In a recent one from blogTO, it was pointed out that Drake's 2012 hit song "HYFR" could have been hiding a clue all this time.

The same report then pointed out that in a part of the song, Drake seemed to be talking about a girl he once went out with who he brought to a sushi place but she wanted to do something else so they ended up getting the food to go.

Meanwhile, the rumor that sushi was part of the menu was further strengthened when executive chef Angel Aaron Sevilla posted on a Facebook group: "Hello friends. Looking for experienced sushi chefs to join my opening team at Pick 6ix Toronto."

blogTO was able to report on the social media post that appears to have been taken down.

If any of these speculations tally, Drake's supposed Toronto restaurant would potentially bump up his estimated net worth of $90 million as reported by Forbes in last May.

However, the biggest contribution to that number is certainly Drake's continuing success in the music industry. As Forbes reported, Drake's latest concert tours at the time were raking more than $1 million at every stop. On top of that, the artist is also doing fairly well in bagging brand deals such as those with Nike, Sprite, and Apple.
