'Duck Dynasty' Stars Willie and Korie Robertson Pose for Pics at State of the Union

Willie Robertson and his wife, Korie Robertson, stars of the hit A&E reality show "Duck Dynasty," attended President Obama's State of the Union address in Washington, D.C., Tuesday evening, snapping photos with big political names such as Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), Newt Gingrich, and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.), among others.

Willie Robertson was invited to Tuesday's event at the U.S. Congress building as a guest of Vance McAllister (R-Swartz), a freshman congressman whom Willie helped campaign for in a November run-off election against State Sen. Neil Riser (R-Columbia). Wife Korie Robertson was invited as a guest of South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham.

Media coverage of Tuesday's event, as well as photos posted on social media, show Willie and Korie were popular celebrity figures among lawmakers, especially those on the Republican side of the House chamber. One photo posted to social media shows the couple posing with Rep. Ryan, chairman of the House Budget Committee.

The couple also posed for photos with Sen. Graham, Rep. Steve Stockman, Rep. Martha Roby, Sen. David Vitter, Rep. Jeff Duncan, Rep. Steve Scalise, Rep. Thomas Massie, and Rep. Alan Nunnelee, among others.

"Great to meet Willie and Korie Robertson before the #SOTU. God, family and hard work – that is what makes the State of our Union strong," Rep. Nunnelee (R-Miss.) posted on his Instagram account after meeting the reality show couple.

NBC political correspondent Kelly O'Donnell said during a live airing of the event that the Robertsons brought "a real celebrity feeling" to the political gathering, showing how "pop culture and political life collide." Willie Robertson wore his classic outfit of an American flag bandana and blazer to Tuesday evening's event, while his wife Korie opted for a conservative outfit that included a green skirt, black boots, black blouse and white jacket.

The couple also posed for a photo with conservative television host Sean Hannity, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.),radio talk show host Mark Levin and former Republican presidential candidate Gingrich along with his wife, Callista. "Great time at dinner," Hannity tweeted along with a photo of the Robertsons and fellow dinner guests.

The president's State of the Union address on Tuesday focused on topics such as immigration, minimum wage, retirement security, taxes, health care, and jobs, among other issues.
