Emma Watson and the Bling Ring: Reality TV Binge for Actress

Emma Watson has prepared extensively for her latest role, starring in writer-director Sofia Coppola's new drama, The Bling Ring, about fame-obsessed thieves who allegedly stole from a string of famous celebs such as Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and The Hills' Audrina Patridge.

To prepare Watson has said that she just "watched a ton of reality TV."

The British actress, who has become a style icon as she concluded the final Harry Potter movies, will star in Coppola's latest drama, although the release date has yet to be confirmed.

Watson talked to EW about her preparations for her part: "I just watched a ton of reality TV. I was doing an English course [at Brown University]. So I would go from reading Virginia Woolf to [watching] Kim Kardashian. I kind of loved it, this mix of super-high and super-low culture. I think it was a nice balance."

Taissa Farmiga, Israel Broussard, Katie Chang and Claire Julien are also set to star alongside Watson in the new movie, which features Emma leading a faction of young thieves to the rich and famous.

Watson became famous for playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movie series. Watson commenced her part in the role at just the age of nine, and had only acted in school plays prior to that first professional role.

For a decade from 2001 to 2011, she starred in all eight Harry Potter films alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint. Watson is thought to have earned more than £10 million (approx $15 million) for her time playing Hermione. She made her debut modeling for Burberry in its Autumn/Winter campaign in 2009.
