'Empire' Season 2 Episode 8 Spoilers – Cookie & Lucious Fight Over Their Sons, Hakeem In Rap Fight With Freda
The upcoming episode of Season 2 of "Empire" is titled "My Bad Parts," and the synopsis states: Lucious, eager to assert his power, releases a rap by Freda challenging Hakeem as his heir."
It goes on to say: "Not to be outdone in Lucious' eyes, Hakeem fires back at Freda with a rap battle challenge that could put Lyon Dynasty's future in danger. Meanwhile, Cookie gets a special visit from her spitfire sister, Candace (guest star Vivica A. Fox), Jamal is working on landing a major sponsorship deal and Anika receives some life changing news."
This season is heading towards its finale and this episode will feature the arrival of actor Vivica A. Fox in the role of Candace, Cookie's sister.
Viewers will be eager to know if Candace is like Cookie and if she will support Cookie in her endeavours to build Lyons Dynasty. If the sisters are alike, Lucious will be totally barrelled.
In the previous episode, Hakeem helped Laura while Jamal worked with his mother Cookie. The episode featured Lucious' backstory with Kelly Rowland playing his mother who is bent on killing herself with a gun a la Russian Roulette style. What she does affects Lucious and he finds solace in singing and music.
Also, Lucious has a new protégé, Freda, as his sons Jamal and Hakeem are branching out on their own. The bond between Lucious and Freda grows in the upcoming episode as Lucious, though getting attached to Freda as his daughter, tries to make Hakeem jealous when he has Freda challenging Hakeem, saying she is the true heiress to Empire.
Cookie responds by saying that Empire can have Hakeem again if he loses to Freda in the rap war that is set up.
Of course, Lucious is going to fight back as showrunner Ilene Chaiken told The Hollywood Reporter. Chaiken said that the hyper Lucious always wants to be on top and said, "He wants to be the sun, the moon, the stars and whatever else is left in the universe needs to revolve around him."
As the season is nearing its finale, viewers can expect a major showdown and some twists in the upcoming episodes of Season 2 of "Empire."
