Erica Campbell of Mary Mary Shares Prayer for Son

Erica Campbell, one half of the gospel music duo Mary Mary, recently shared a prayer that she wrote for her 2-year old son Warryn Campbell III on Instagram.

Campbell, 40, took to Instagram to thank the Lord for her son's future qualities.

"Lord I thank you that he will be strong and honest and true to himself. He will work hard be focused yet led by you Holy Spirit," Campbell shared with fans on Instagram. "He will be compassionate and loving yet firm. He won't be swayed or affected by negative things or people."

The singer also asked God to help she and her husband Warryn Campbell to raise their son to fulfill his divine purpose.

"I thank you for my son and who you created him to be. Help us to raise him to walk in your design and purpose for his life," she wrote on Instagram. "I thank you for his beautiful heart and warm smile. Make him confident God."

Before closing her prayer, Campbell focused on thanking God for the men that will influence her son.

"I thank you for the strong men in his life that will build his character so he will be able to handle the struggles of life with dignity and power and strength! Lead him not into temptation God," she wrote on Instagram. "Bless my baby Boy help him Grow into the man you want him to be. Let your will be done in his life. Amen. #mommy'sheart."

Fans of the gospel singer seemed touched that she would share an intimate prayer with them.

"What a prayer," one fan commented on Instagram. "Amen!"

A number of other people used the name of Jesus Christ to bring the prayer into fruition.

"And it is so, in Jesus name," one person wrote.

Campbell recently announced that she would be working on solo music apart from sister and fellow group member Tina Campbell.

"I will say this, we are not breaking up," Erica told Essence recently. "But we're taking a break. I'm going to do some solo music. Tina's going to vacation and travel the world."
