'Fear the Walking Dead' News, Update: Teaser Video Sees Nick Running for His Life
The hype and anticipation for AMC's companion series for its hit post-apocalyptic TV drama series, "The Walking Dead," "Fear the Walking Dead," is increasing thanks to this recently-released teaser clip.
Although the video is only about 30 seconds long, it does however, serves its purpose of giving the audience a first close look of the spinoff show.
It featured Frank Dillane's character named Nick, who is on the run. He jumps out of a window, runs fast down a narrow alley, slips through a hole in a fence and out into the open street with his shirt blowing along with the wind.
Even on the state of being half-naked, Nick is clearly concerned for his dear life and one could assume that the thing/person/entity going after him is terribly dangerous.
Centred in Los Angeles, but filmed in Vancouver, "Fear the Walking Dead" tells the story on the early days of the zombie apocalypse which, according to reports, took place while TWD's Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) is still in a coma.
Set to premiere on AMC this August, the upcoming show will also see the acts Alycia Debnam-Carey as Alicia (Nick's sister), Kim Dickens as Madison (Nick and Alicia's mother), and Cliff Curtis as Travis (Madison's boyfriend), among many others.
Clarified by creator of both series, Robert Kirkman, FTWD is not necessarily a prequel to the parent show. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kirkman explained that Fear will highlight the events that happened "for a while behind the scenes."
"In pockets of civilization, there would be news stories that didn't really make sense and didn't seem connected. And that's kind of where we pick things up," Kirkman said.
He added that there will be a point "where a certain episode of this show [Fear] will line up with Season 2 of The Walking Dead."
"Fear the Walking Dead" premieres this August on AMC.
