Last month, South African photographer Albert Bredenhann received an email from a woman wanting to set up a photoshoot to honor her friend Gerdi McKenna, who was fighting breast cancer. This video shows eleven of McKenna's friends gathering without her knowledge to commit a stunning act of sacrifice and unity.

McKenna later walks into a surprise party and is overwhelmed by her friends' shocking gesture of love. This video from Bredenhann tells the story.
