Galaxy S4 Experiences Problems with Earphones Crackling

The Samsung Galaxy S4 has only been out a few months and it is already one of the most popular smartphones ever to be released.

However, people's experiences with the device have been far from perfect. As a person who has tested around 3 models and has owned two I came across a strange issue when on my fourth Galaxy S4.

The white version from AT&T has an issue with specific headphones. While using my Sony sport headphones I experienced a bit of distortion and crackling when listening to loud music. I did not have this same problem using these headphones on the blue AT&T model, or white Sprint model.

I notified AT&T about the problem and the company ended up sending me another white model. Once I plugged these same earphones back in, I experienced the same problem. I decided not to switch out phones.

I than tested Apple's new earbuds on my white Galaxy S4 and they seemed to work fine with absolutely no distortion. This would leave most to believe that the problem is with my headphones however, they work perfectly fine with other devices such as my computer and other Galaxy S4 models

This really leaves me puzzled. AT&T told me to visit one of their retail locations to see if a technician could correct the problem. After a bit of research on the Internet, I noticed that a lot of people were having these issues with specific models. I seemed to have narrowed it down to the white AT&T variant.

A software update was issued in Europe that fixed the distortion. I am not sure as to when it will arrive in the states. If anyone has any information on this please feel free to leave it in the comment section.
