Galaxy Tab S2 vs iPad Air 3 Rumored Specs: Which Tablet Offers You More?

The tablet wars continue to wage now that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 has been released and Apple's iPad Air 3 is coming out soon.

The newly released Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is already being pitted against the upcoming Apple iPad Air 3. While customers already know the specs and features of the Tab S2, they have yet to come across the confirmed specs of the next iPad, according to Christian Today.

The Galaxy Tab S2 boasts of a slim body that is only 5.6 millimeters thick and weighs just 392 grams. It has a plastic back panel and metal frame, Live Mint reports. The 2015 edition Galaxy Tab 2, successor to the 2014 Galaxy Tab, is incredibly thin at 5.6 millimeters, and weighs just 392 grams. The design lines, with the flat sides and use of metal, are similar to some of Samsung's recent Galaxy smartphones. The back panel is plastic, while the frame around the tablet is metal. The one shortcoming is that there is some amount of flex in the back panel when you press down hard on it.

The Tab S2 is available in the 9.7-inch and 8-inch variants. The device runs on an Exynos 7 Octa SoC processor and comes with a 2048 x 1536 pixel Super AMOLED screen. Rumors say the iPad Air 3 will run on either the A9 or A9X processor with 2 GB or 4 GB of RAM. It would also have a 3112 x 2334 pixel Retina screen, the report details.

When it comes to camera, the Tab S2 only has an 8-megapixel rear snapper. There are speculations that the iPad Air 3 will still have the same rear camera specs, but its front snapper will be 2.1 megapixels.

In terms of price, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 takes home the bacon with a basic price tag of $400. The Venture Capital Post says the iPad Air may cost at least $619.

There are still no confirmations to the rumored specs and features of the Apple iPad Air 3, which is expected to be released either by the end of this year or in the first quarter of 2016. For now, fans will have to wait and see if the new iPad can compete with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2.
