'Game of Thrones' Season 3 Cast Upset About Red Wedding Scene? Tobias Menzies Answers

In the "Red Wedding" episode of popular HBO historical-fiction drama "Game of Thrones," several popular characters were killed off in a gruesome battle. In some ways, it seems unfair that popular actors who are doing a good job were written off of the show for the sake of the story. So, what do those actors think of their characters being killed off?

In a recent interview with The Independent, Tobias Menzies, who plays Edmure Tully on the hit show, talks about the casts' reaction to the "Red Wedding" episdoe.

"Obviously a lot of those characters were key characters that were killed off in that wedding. And those actors had been through a real journey with the show. So it was an interesting moment for them and for the show as well. There was a moment of sadness but kind of excitement about it. There was a lot of anticipation about it and I know they made certain tweaks," Menzies said.

Menzies also spoke about what his interactions with cast member who were killed off after the "Red Wedding" episode ended their time on "Game of Thrones."

"I've seen [Richard Madden and Michelle Fairley] since. I think ["Game of Thrones"] was a huge part of their lives and I think they will both miss it. Richard's young so he's got plenty to move onto," the actor said to The Independent of his former castmates.

So it seems, according to Menzies, the overall emotion of the 11 cast members who were killed off and cut from the show is sadness rather than anger. What will season four hold for the reaming "Game of Thrones" cast members?  Only time will tell, as the fourth season of the show is not expected to air until April of 2014.
